St Elmo Ocicats is a family run hobby breeder of fabulous Ocicats. Ocicats are loving, entertaining kitties that want to be in your company, wherever you are. Our human family is me - Jo, Christian my husband, and our two daughters Grace and Rose. Although I started this Ocicat obsession it was soon shared by all of us.
At a Christmas party we were talking about finding a friend for our dog, as he was obviously missing  his canine companion who had passed a few months earlier, and a friend suggested finding a cat that is more like a dog and the research began. Looking at the various cat breeds I returned again and again to the sleek, distinctive and beautiful Ocicat, not just for their adorable spotty tummies (just so cute) but for their intelligent, witty and sociable characters, often described as 'a dog in a cats body'. We brought home our first Ocicat boy Lupin in 2016 and we all fell in love.

We were immediately won over by Lupin's desire to be constantly involved with his human servants, tapping your paint brush whilst doing DIY, sitting on your keyboard, standing on his hind legs to edge a paw onto the work surface hoping to steal a morsel whilst dinner is prepared, refusing to allow anyone to shower or use the loo alone and sneaking up to bed early to bagsy the best spot. Lupin is a constant and charming companion and nowhere is sacred!
Very soon I started my search for a female, I had got the bug and wanted more. After a while I was luck to find litter of kittens with a beautiful chocolate silver girl and soon we welcomed Luna into our home. We were prepared to spend days introducing her very slowly to Lupin but within a couple of hours they insisted on being together and have been inseparable since.

At 18 months Luna had her first litter of kittens, such a wonderful experience for our whole family. Her first born was a female black silver spotted kitten - just what I have always wanted (but kittens are few and far between) and so Dora has stayed with us. Grace desperately wanted a little boy and fell in love with Dudley, a spotted chocolate silver, that we have with us until she has a home of her own (so perhaps forever). Horace was our little runt of the litter, a gorgeous chocolate silver classic pattern who soon melted our hearts so we couldn't part with him - so now we have a family of 5 Ocicat characters and we wouldn't change a thing.
